Happy New year 2023

2023 year is the Year of Guimao Rabbit. The so-called “Guimao” is a way of counting the years in the Ganzhi Calendar. The old ancestor matched the ten heavenly stems with the twelve earthly branches in order, with the heavenly stems first and the earthly branches second. In this way, the cycle of sixty would be repeated.

In addition to the stem and branch chronology, we also use the “zodiac chronology”. The old ancestor matched the twelve earthly branches with twelve kinds of animals, and each year there was an animal responsible for work, which is what we call the twelve zodiac.

Take the Year of the Rabbit as an example. There are five kinds of Mao: Ding Mao, Ji Mao, Xin Mao, Gui Mao and Yi Mao. Because the ten heavenly stems have different attributes of five elements, these five different years of the rabbit are also endowed with different attributes of five elements: Ding belongs to fire, Ji belongs to earth, Xin belongs to gold, Kui belongs to water, and B belongs to wood. So the year of Guimao Rabbit in 2023 will be the year of Water Rabbit.

The order of the Chinese zodiac is Zimu, Chou Niu, Yin Hu, Mao Rabbit, Chen Long, Si Snake, Wu Ma, Wei Yang, Shen Monkey, Youji, Xu Dog and Hai Pig. Water rabbit people are gentle and quiet, with medium financial fortune.
